MASTER LEE WILLIAMS - "God Bless America" (R&B/Soul/Gospel)

MASTER LEE WILLIAMS
I was born in Kingston, NC in 1941. My career was inspired by my musical parents Maryland and Raymond Reece in 1958. After watching the legendary Sam Cooke performing with the Soul Stirrers, I was sought after by several music groups in high school and our successful performances brought us recognition for our great original R&B style. I decided to be an entertainer in 1959 which led me to come to New York City.
In 1965, I was introduced to musician and record company owner Joe Evans of Carnival Records. Mr. Evans was impressed with what he heard and the result was a record contract. The group was named "Lee Williams & The Cymbals" when our first single was released in 1966. My composition "I'll Be Gone" was featured on the flip side of "I Love You More";. Between 1966 and 1967, Carnival released 2 more singles by my group.
I became the lead vocalist of The Intruders in 1983, who had a two-sided hit in the UK with "Who Do You Love" and "Warm And Tender Love".
The stage and studio time with my two groups readied me for the next foray into the big time, when I was selected to join the internationally known Grammy recording group The Manhattans in 1993. From 1993 to 2015, as lead vocalist for the group, we toured throughout the USA, Central America, Korea and Europe.
The Manhattans were invited to perform at the White House for the exit ceremony of then President Bill Clinton in 2001.
In 2008, I, along with The Soul Speak Band, performed at Hillary Clinton's Campaign Rally.
Our song "Heavenly Father" was featured in late 2015 in the motion picture "The Sparrows".
Recently, I re-released my "God Bless America" album which included 3 newly recorded songs. Featured on the album are my musical brothers The Manhattans.
